Dr. Deborah Manjoney

Dr. Deborah L. ManjoneyDeborah L. Manjoney, MD, received her medical education at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.  She was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Fraternity in her third year, and was the recipient of the Senior Surgical Research Award.  Dr. Manjoney completed an internship, residency and Chief Residency in general surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center before pursuing an additional residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Chicago.  She served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the State University of New York in Brooklyn and Chief of Thoracic surgery at the Kings County Hospital.  She subsequently worked as an attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Erie, Pennsylvania before moving to the Milwaukee area in 1992.  Dr. Manjoney served as a Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeon on the staffs of several area hospitals, with an active practice until 2004.

In September of 2002, she opened the Wisconsin Vein Center and MediSpa and in 2004, she left her hospital practice to devote all her medical efforts to treatment of varicose vein disease and performance of minimally-invasive aesthetic procedures.  Dr. Manjoney is a recognized leader in office-based treatment of varicose veins.  She has performed over 1,500 Endovenous Laser Ablations of Saphenous Veins.  She has also performed over 3,000 ambulatory phlebectomy and sclerotherapy procedures.  She has been a speaker at regional and national conferences on the subject of heart disease in women, and currently is a nationally sponsored educator of physicians on laser therapy of varicose veins.  Dr. Manjoney is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, as well as a diplomat of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.  She is a member of the American College of Surgeons.

Affiliations

Dr. Manjoney is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American College of Phelbology, the Medical Spa Society and Vein Affiliates.  Her current appointments include:  Preceptor/Lecturer for Dornier Med Tech; Editorial Board Member for Vein Therapy News; and Luminary for Alma Lasers.  Dr. Manjoney has been extensively published in a variety of medical publications including Phlebology, Journal of Surgical Research, and the Journal of Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery.
