Chemical peels use a chemical solution, usually an acid, to 'peel' away the top layers of the epidermis in order to improve conditions such as acne, irregular pigmentation or wrinkles. They can range from mild to aggressive and, depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated. This allows new, fresh skin to be exposed, creating a vibrant appearance, promoting a rosy glow or even drying up an acne flare up.
A chemical peel is a very quick and easy treatment and can be performed during a lunch hour. Depending on the strength of the peel, some may just leave your skin freshened and radiant.
