Cellfina: Cellulite’s Worst Enemy

Cellulite is an area of concern for many people, particularly women. Nearly 90% of women and about 10% of men experience cellulite in some form during their lifetime. While it’s incredibly common, most people who have cellulite avoid certain types of clothing and try to hide it.

The good news? We can help get rid of it. Cellfina is a revolutionary, minimally-invasive treatment we perform at our MediSpa in Pewaukee. With our help, the appearance of dimpled skin can be reduced or disappear completely.

What causes cellulite?

Cellulite are the dimples we see on the backs of our thighs and up onto the buttocks. The dimples are caused by small, fibrous bands of tissue that connect the dermis (top layer of skin) and the fascia (the layer of tissue that lies between the muscle and fat tissue). This causes the fat between the layers of tissue to divide into pockets, resulting in a dimpled appearance. Simply put, the fibrous bands are the root of the problem.

What is Cellfina?

Cellfina is a long-lasting, minimally-invasive treatment that works to release the fibrous bands that cause cellulite, revealing smoother skin. We start with a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. The Cellfina device is then used to insert a tiny needle which moves around and divides the fibrous bands, allowing the skin to return back to its place. You’ll see results in as little as three days, and they’ll improve over time!

Cellfina treatments only take about 45 minutes, and downtime is very minimal. We encourage patients to take it easy for up to 24 hours, but you should have no problem going about your day right after the treatment is finished.
