Vanquish Your Fat

Any time we do a consultation in regard to body fat, we hear how much it affects our patient’s confidence. Body image is something that many people struggle with. After having two children back to back, I know the battle all too well. It is especially hard when you see celebrities on social media platforms who have bounced back to an even better body after baby and it looks like they were never pregnant. You could be doing everything right, meaning a healthy diet and tons of exercise but still are having a hard time shedding the fat. This is where non-invasive body contouring comes into the picture. Most of us do not have time to deal with the after-effects of liposuction. Wisconsin Vein Center & Medispa has the equipment to eliminate and decrease subcutaneous fat with zero downtime.

One modality we have in our army of fat busters is the Vanquish ME by BTL Industries, Inc. Vanquish ME uses selective RF technology to perform preferential heating of large volumes of subcutaneous adipose tissue (Hayre, Jenkin, Palm, 2016, p.1557). A large panel fits across your abdomen and includes your flanks. Some patients like to do the ‘shrink wrap regimen” and also treat posterior for more coverage of the flanks. The heating of the adipose tissue induced adipocyte fat apoptosis (programmed fat cell death). Patients that have a higher volume of subcutaneous fat should consider this option of treatment as it covers more area than the CoolSculpting (ideal for isolated pockets of fat).

PATIENT COMMITMENT

What I find to be most important to be successful with Vanquish ME is the commitment from my patient. Although this is going to destroy your fat, it does not mean you do not have to lead a healthy lifestyle. At your first treatment, we discuss water intake, healthy eating, and daily exercise. These three components are vital to achieve a noticeable result. Water intake has a huge impact on the amount of heat we can generate in the adipose tissue. The more hydrated you are, the more water we have to heat. Water in the skin has low impedance while water in the adipose tissue has high impedance meaning that the conductivity is higher in the adipose tissue when the body is hydrated. You know you are hydrated if your urine is almost clear.

If water is hard for you to drink, try putting a lemon or a fruit of your choice to give it some flavor. Diet is also an important component to your success with Vanquish ME. We recommend planning your meals out, making sure you have an adequate amount of protein, greens, and fruits. When fixing your plate, keep in mind portion control. Exercise is the last important component to the success of your treatments. After your Vanquish ME treatment, we encourage physical activity. You can go for a walk, a swim, a run, etc. It does not have to be high impact, high interval exercise.

For at home use, we highly recommend the use of the Alastin Transform Body Treatment. This product accelerates your success as it aides in ridding your body of the dead fat cells. When we rupture the structure of the fat cell, liposomes turn the cell into a fatty acid. Macrophages then come to eat the fatty acid thus ridding your body of the fatty acid. Water intake also increases your lymphatic drainage which is how your body rids itself of toxins. This product has been studied in trials with non-invasive body contouring treatments and using the product on one side of the treatment area. The results show an increase in fat reduction with use.

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE A CANDIDATE FOR THIS TREATMENT?

We always start your experience at Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa with an in-depth consultation with our Patient Care Coordinator. She reviews your medical history, asks about your aesthetic concerns and then develops a treatment plan that will help you achieve your aesthetic goals. To be considered for Vanquish ME, you must have subcutaneous fat or the fat you can pinch. During your consultation, our Patient Care Coordinator will be able to inform you if anything is contraindicated for treatment. The main ones are active implants such as a pacemaker, defibrillator/cardio converter, cochlear implant or any metal joint implant (excludes oral implants).

Vanquish ME is a great treatment for those with higher volumes of fat and for those that are committed to changing their body. It is a great segway treatment for CoolSculpting as well. Think of it this way, we can debulk the amount of subcutaneous fat with Vanquish ME and then contour specific areas with CoolSculpting. At Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa, we are ready to take on your fat. Are you?
