A Treatment Plan Designed To Fit Your Needs – Your Vein Care Plan

To ensure you receive the highest standard of care and most effective treatments, Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa has established a five-step Milwaukee Vein Care Plan that allows Dr. Manjoney and her staff to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and follow-up on your vein conditions. From consult to follow-up, our staff and comprehensive system ensures you will receive the most advanced treatments for your varicose veins and spider veins. We want patients to be educated about their health and will do our best to make sure have a clear understanding of the process.

STEP 1: Initial Consultation with Dr. Manjoney

The initial consultation at Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa will entail a visit with the doctor and one of our Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.  During this visit, we obtain a thorough health history, discuss your vein symptoms, perform a thorough vascular physical examination, and obtain photos for medical and insurance purposes.  Based on the findings, a duplex ultrasound may be recommended for a complete, more in-depth evaluation of the venous system.

STEP 2: Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging

The first step in any varicose vein treatment program requires a mapping procedure with an ultrasound machine. While you stand, our expert technologist passes a probe over your leg which painlessly generates a picture of your veins using ultrasound waves.  These images may demonstrate veins with ‘reflux’, or backward blood flow.

STEP 3: Education and Treatment Plan Discussion

Following the initial consultation and ultrasound, all findings will be summarized and explained, and a treatment plan will be discussed with you. If you have varicose veins and they meet your insurance company’s criteria for treatment, a period of “conservative therapy” may be needed (unless you have already been wearing compression hose).  Although varicose vein treatment may be appropriate, many insurance carriers require you to meet strict guidelines for coverage under their plan.

If your ultrasound is normal, you may schedule a cosmetic sclerotherapy treatment. These treatments can be scheduled immediately.

STEP 4: Vein Treatment

Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa offers advanced, non-surgical techniques for your vein treatments, all of which general anesthesia is not needed, thus avoiding several potential complications associated with general anesthesia. Whether an Endovenous Laser Treatment, Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Sclerotherapy, Varithena, or a combination of treatments, you can be assured that these innovative treatments are minimally invasive and more effective than the major surgical procedures used in the past. Patients are typically “in-and-out” in about an hour, and can resume most normal activities upon leaving the office.

STEP 5: Post-Treatment Follow-Up

During your post-treatment follow-up, we will again use a duplex ultrasound to evaluate the treated veins and determine if additional procedures are required. Once your varicose veins have been successfully treated, you can begin treatment for any spider veins, if you so choose. It is important to treat the underlying varicose veins first to ensure optimal results. Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa works with you to help you maintain healthy legs.
