Not many skin treatments work on both the hands and the face, but Radiesse does both. Whether you’re struggling with wrinkles and folds on your face or wrinkles and volume loss on your hands, the injectable can be used to give you the results you’re looking for in either area.

What is Radiesse

Radiesse is an FDA-approved subdermal injectable that is injected under the surface of the skin. It works to correct moderate to several wrinkles on the face and can restore volume in the face and hands. The formula consists of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel. When injected, it stimulates the production of collagen to smooth wrinkles and give your face more volume. The results can last up to a year or more.

Radiesse for Face

Volume loss is a natural part of the aging process and can result in fine lines, wrinkles, flattened cheeks, and other unwanted signs of aging.
Some of the first signs of aging occur around the nose, mouth, and face due to repeated facial expressions, sun exposure, gravity, and a natural drop in collagen production.

Radiesse can give you almost instant results with more improvement appearing over time. With one quick treatment session, you can have younger-looking skin with no downtime required!  The results of Radiesse are also easy to maintain with periodic touch-up sessions. Our expert injectors at Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa can meet with you to determine if Radiesse is the solution to your unique signs of aging.

Radiesse for Hands

Following your initial consultation, we can begin your customized treatment plan for Radiesse. These treatments don’t lead to downtime and patients can usually do them during a lunch break.

Many times, the backs of the hands are the first signs of aging and while you may be able to cover up the face with makeup, it’s much more difficult to hide the visible signs of aging on the hands. Luckily, Radiesse can work on the hands too.  If your hands are showing tendons, wrinkles, and veins, one of our providers at Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa can inject Radiesse under the skin to add volume which can smooth away the wrinkles, hide veins and tendons, and give you natural-looking results.  Just like with the face, the results of Radiesse on the hands can last up to a year.

FAQs

Check out these frequently asked questions about radiesse.

How much does Radiesse cost?

The cost of your Radiesse treatment will depend on how many syringes are needed. The amount of Radiesse you will need will vary based on the severity of your concerns and where the filler is being placed. This will be assessed in more detail after a consultation with one of our expert injector.

How long does Radiesse last?

The results of Radiesse can be experienced right away for smoother, younger-looking skin. These results can last for up to a year before the formula is completely broken down and absorbed by the body. You can maintain your Radiesse results for longer by having occasional touch-up sessions.

Is Radiesse better than Juvederm?

This would be largely dependent on the area being injected, the amount of volume needed and your injectors technique.

What is Radiesse used for?

Radiesse is used to fill in fine lines and static wrinkles such as smile lines around the mouth, marionette lines, pre-jowl folds, and chin wrinkles. These wrinkles are present even when the face is relaxed. Radiesse can also be used to add volume to the cheeks or even the backs of the hands to restore their youthful appearance. Radiesse is used for early signs of aging for nonsurgical facial rejuvenation.

Can I exercise after Radiesse injections?

It is recommended that you refrain from vigorous activity for 24 -48 hours after injections as increased circulation to the area of injection can increase your chance of bruising.

Does Radiesse have hyaluronic acid?

Radiesse is not hyaluronic acid. It is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA)

How many syringes of Radiesse do you need for nasolabial folds?

This would be dependent on the amount of volume loss in the folds and often times correlates directly to the volume loss in the cheeks as well. There is not a one size fits all recipe for filler as every ones needs and volume depletion is different. If one were to only need filler in the nasolabial folds, 1 syringe is typically adequate.

Can I wear makeup after Radiesse?

Yes but it is advised to use a clean hand, finger or makeup applicator

Is Radiesse better than Voluma?

This would be largely dependent on the area being injected, the amount of volume needed and your injectors technique.

What are the side effects of Radiesse?

Radiesse is nonsurgical so there is no downtime necessary! However, some common side effects may include slight swelling or bruising, redness, and itching at the injection points. These are typically mild and will diminish over the next several hours after treatment. You can minimize swelling and side effects by avoiding strenuous exercise, direct sunlight, and heat.
