What is PRP and PRF?
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), is developed by preparing a sample of your own blood in a centrifuge to isolate platelets within the plasma. PRP and PRF have has many uses in both cosmetics and medicine, as it encourages new cell growth and healing thanks to a concentration of growth factors and signaling cells. This makes both PRP and PRF beneficial for skin rejuvenation in addition to other treatment options. Often, PRP and PRF application is paired with microneedling services in a procedure you may have heard of as a “vampire facial.” PRP or PRF can be applied topically or directly injected into various treatment areas.
PRP / PRF with SkinPen Microneedling
SkinPen Microneedling is a precise and professional microneedling treatment option which stimulates new skin cell and collagen growth. It can be used to treat a range of skin concerns including acne scars, unwanted pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, or mild skin laxity. During SkinPen treatment, the device creates micro-channels in the skin. By applying PRP or PRF to the skin during this treatment, the PRP or PRF can then deeply penetrate the skin’s layers through these micro-channels. There, it will further stimulate new collagen production for a youthful and rejuvenated look.
PRP / PRF with Genius RF Microneedling
Genius RF Microneedling with PRP or PRF combines three factors that each stimulate collagen: controlled micro-injuries, radiofrequency thermal energy, and platelet-rich plasma or fibrins. Genius RF Microneedling is an effective treatment option for a range of aging signs like fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots and hyperpigmentation, or laxity. Following Genius RF Microneedling treatment, PRP or PRF can be applied directly to the skin to boost collagen and elastin production.
PRP / PRF Injections
PRP and PRF can be injected directly into various treatment areas to improve the appearance of the skin, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, or laxity. Once injected, PRP and PRF both stimulate new collagen production, resulting in a naturally youthful look with firmer and more elastic skin. This is particularly useful for perioral lip lines (smoker’s lines) or to improve crepey, pigmented skin under the eyes. Unlike injectable filler options, there is no risk of developing lumps and a minimal risk of an adverse or allergic reaction, as PRP and PRF are developed from your own blood. Like other injectables, PRP/PRF injections result in minimal downtime and minimal side effects.
