October is Breast Cancer Awareness

Every 14 seconds, someone is diagnosed with breast cancer.  This means most of us will be impacted by breast cancer at some point in our lives.

What can you do?  Make sure you or your loved ones are getting regularly screened because early-stage diagnosis has over 85% survival rates. Self-breast exams and yearly mammograms are important initial screening methods. Genetic testing is available for those women with a strong family history.  Staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol consumption, and minimizing exposure to plastics/parabens/tobacco are important lifestyle changes for all of us.

Treatments to Benefit Breast Cancer Warriors

At Wisconsin Vein Venter & Medispa, we recognize the Breast Cancer Warriors.  We offer FREE laser removal of radiation tattoos for women who have completed breast irradiation.

We also offer the FemiLift vaginal laser – a great option for breast cancer survivors who experience sexual dysfunction due to pain.  This in-office procedure helps to improve lubrication and vaginal tissue health, improving pain during sex, and bladder symptoms that develop with a decrease in hormones caused by menopause or breast cancer treatments.

The DUTCH test is another way Wisconsin Vein Venter & Medispa can help.  The DUTCH (Dried Urine Testing for Comprehensive Hormones) Test is easy to collect at home and measures urine hormone levels, metabolites, nutrients, and inflammatory markers.  It is useful for measuring hormone imbalances, monitoring hormone treatments, and screening for an increased risk of breast cancer based on estrogen metabolites.  The DUTCH test will aid us in determining a plan for premenopausal and postmenopausal women who want personalized treatment options.
