Growing older is natural and inevitable, but it doesn’t mean you have to look it. Despite your best efforts at home, professional treatments are still one of your best options to rewind the clock and look as young as you feel. Among many things, anti-aging treatments can help to diminish fine lines and deep-rooted wrinkles, reduce the appearance of sun damage and dark spots, and restore lost volume and sunken areas. The best part is that you don’t need to count on lengthy recovery or invasive surgery. We offer a number of excellent anti-aging options at our Pewaukee office, so here are some of our best treatments to know about.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels are ideal for improving the skin’s texture, tone, pigmentation, and more. A chemical peel is an acidic solution used to exfoliate the epidermis (top layer of the skin) to reveal a healthy and glowing layer underneath. Peels can vary in severity and depth, depending on what problem areas you wish to address, such as wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tones, hyperpigmentation, and irregular texture. You can opt for a single, more aggressive peel or a series of light peels based on your skincare goals.
DERMAPLANING
During dermaplaning, a scalpel is used to shave the top layer of skin to remove dead skin cells and expose brighter, softer skin. This procedure is ideal for those looking to reduce a dull appearance, rough texture, fine lines, and small facial hairs, otherwise known as peach fuzz. This can be performed regularly and even combined with other skincare treatments for the best results.
DERMAL FILLERS
Slightly more invasive than topical treatments, dermal fillers are injections of biocompatible, crystal-clear gel inserted under the skin with a small needle. One of the most common fillers is Juvederm, which is made with a synthetic form of a complex sugar naturally found in your body called hyaluronic acid. Juvederm is especially useful in correcting fine lines and deep folds around the nose and mouth, otherwise known as parentheses lines. Radiesse is another filler option that targets loss of facial volume and lines, creating a smooth, long-lasting effect.
Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa offers a wide range of fillers and you can schedule a free consultation to find out what works best for you.
WRINKLE RELAXERS
Botox (Botulinum Toxin) is one of the most popular injectable treatments used to treat lines on the forehead and between the brows. These types of wrinkles are usually caused by everyday facial expressions, a process called dynamic wrinkles. Botox can effectively block these muscle movements and relax tension that contributes to their appearance. The results of this treatment last up to four months;; Botox can even treat hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweat), and, although not offered at Wisconsin Vein Center & MediSpa, migraines and other medical conditions. FAT MELTING
One more injectable option uses Deoxycholic Acid to break down fat cells and reabsorb them into the body. Kybella is primarily used for stubborn fat under the chin. A double chin can be difficult to combat on your own since it can be caused by genetics, aging, weight fluctuations, or a combination of all three! At least two treatments are required, but results from Kybella are permanent and a great non-surgical option!
LASER TREATMENTS
AFT Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a heat-based laser procedure that focuses on giving you beautiful, rejuvenated skin, treating concerns like tired, aged skin; wrinkles, sun damage, redness, scarring, pigmentation, and sagging. This type of treatment requires no downtime and is perfect for those with busy schedules!
SCLEROTHERAPY TREATMENT
Spider veins on the legs, body, and face can be treated with two procedure types; laser and sclerotherapy. Most often, both methods are used together to obtain the best result through a light laser and injected solution to eliminate visible veins.
